About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Safety Officer to join our team at Public Health Wales. As a key member of our Data, Knowledge and Research Directorate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe design, development, and implementation of digital health systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement clinical risk management processes to identify and mitigate safety risks associated with digital health systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the Clinical Risk Management Process.
  • Collaborate with digital services teams to ensure clinical safety is integrated into the development and procurement of IT health solutions.
  • Provide clinical safety expertise to colleagues across Public Health Wales, including planning clinical risk management activities and influencing staff to change their ways of working.
  • Lead and manage staff associated with the programme and wider clinical IT systems, building strong teams and alliances.
Requirements
  • Current professional registration with a regulatory body within Health or Social Care.
  • Postgraduate diploma level qualification or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Patient Safety Investigation qualification RCA/SEIPS.
  • Evidence of continuing professional and/or personal self-development.
  • NHS Digital Clinical Safety Accreditation.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • IT-related degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • Agile Change Practitioner.
  • Patient safety experience.
  • Risk Management experience.
  • Relevant clinical experience.
