About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field IT Service Engineer to join our team at AF Blakemore & Son Ltd. As a Field IT Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our clients in the Midlands and North Wales areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and deployment of IT systems and hardware, including data cabling and other technical requirements.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to clients on IT operational standards, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensuring personal availability and responsiveness to client needs within defined territories.
  • Maintaining adequate spares and inventory levels to ensure prompt resolution of technical issues.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the build and repair process are followed, and all areas of the repair center and vehicles are clean and well-maintained.
  • Compliance with asset tracking and assignment procedures for deployed and repaired systems.
  • Supporting the Helpdesk team as required and performing general administrative duties.
  • Communicating observations of potential IT system issues and providing recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.
  • An Electrical qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of structured data cabling is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • IT fault finding experience and skills are essential.
