Position: Junior Financial Guidance Consultant

Contract Type: 6 months fixed term

Compensation: £27,000 per annum

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

We are pleased to collaborate with a charitable organization focused on debt counseling and financial education to recruit a Junior Financial Guidance Consultant.

About the Position:

In light of the ongoing financial challenges affecting numerous individuals across the UK, we are seeking new team members to address the increasing need for financial guidance and support. Your role will be crucial in preventing homelessness, alleviating food and energy poverty, and ensuring that clients receive compassionate assistance during challenging times.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional, unbiased, and results-oriented advisory service to all clients.
  • Offer guidance in the following areas:
    • Maximizing income
    • Creating budgets
    • Managing priority debts
    • Addressing unsecured debts
    • Exploring debt resolution options
  • Recognize client vulnerabilities and prioritize urgent household issues.
  • Deliver thorough advice, outlining next steps and actions in an easily comprehensible manner.
  • Direct or refer clients to the appropriate resources promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records using our case management system.

You will receive comprehensive training designed to equip you for the role and facilitate your progression to an accredited advisory standard. Training will be ongoing and delivered through various methods, including in-house sessions, courses, webinars, and e-learning.

  • Demonstrated customer service expertise.
  • Ability to establish rapport and empathize with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capability to handle challenging situations with composure and professionalism, such as assisting clients facing imminent enforcement actions or experiencing emotional distress.
  • A positive, resilient, and pragmatic mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to necessary guidelines and regulations.
