Job Title: Central Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Central Operations Manager to join our team at Selfridges. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading improvement projects that drive operational efficiencies and improvements, resulting in more effective teams and more time to focus on customers and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Central Operations team in seeking out improvement projects that drive operational efficiencies and improvements.
  • Bring a strategic mindset to projects, considering the wider context of business challenges and helping to frame this with senior leaders.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to aid store operations, implementing guidelines and procedures to drive efficiency.
  • Manage a team of two Central Operations Managers, guiding them in delivery of projects, from formulation of new processes to implementation.
  • Liaise with Channel Integration (CI), providing support on CI process mapping, validating and managing changes post implementation.
  • Consider all possible areas of impact from operational change, foreseeing challenges and providing opportunities to mitigate, from training to a clear comms plan.
  • Collaborate with and influence functions where necessary, providing an overview of the changes and impact required.
  • Agree and embed training and communication, owning and reviewing the process to ensure it is achieved.

  • Collaborative, working with key stakeholders to simplify ways of working and drive change.
  • Great at influencing and negotiating, building professional, lasting relationships at all levels.
  • Analytical, able to read and interpret data, understanding the nuances between each store.
  • Focused and self-motivated, using your relationships across the business to seek out required improvements.
  • A retail expert, with a background in retail, both front and back of house.
