Job Title: Transport Operations Manager

Job Summary:

Ideal Recruit Limited is seeking a highly skilled Transport Operations Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of our transport plan, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and managing various data streams to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transport Plan Execution: Manage the execution of our transport plan through effective planning and allocation of resources to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  2. Data Management: Manage various data streams to support our operations, including commercial elements of customer contracts.
  3. Team Management: Proactively manage attendance and absence levels within your team in adherence to company policy.
  4. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company and local statutory obligations regarding working time regulations (WTD) and operator licensing.
  5. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with all other shifts to achieve business objectives.
  6. Representative: Act as a key representative for our transport department, ensuring all transport operations, practices, and procedures are managed in line with our Health & Safety Policy and other statutory requirements.

Requirements:

  1. Transport Experience: Currently operating at a similar level within transport (essential).
  2. Leadership Experience: Min 3 years' experience in leading a team in a transport logistics operations environment (essential), 5 years desirable.
  3. Technical Skills: Competent with Microsoft Excel & Word, ability to produce data and information to identify opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
  4. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, excellent influencing and interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels.
  5. Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness, good understanding of EU legislation, and knowledge and experience of transport operations.
  6. Qualifications: Full UK driving license, successful candidate(s) will be required to undergo a basic Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Check.
