Workshop Operations Manager

Join KDM Hire Ltd as a key member of our Operations team and take on the challenge of leading our workshop operations. As a Workshop Manager - Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our workshop, ensuring that our team is productive, efficient, and delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the activities of our workshop team, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Manage work allocation and schedules, prioritizing tasks to meet customer needs and deadlines.
- Monitor and control stock levels, ensuring that we have the necessary materials and equipment to complete jobs efficiently.
- Support and develop the skills of our team members, providing guidance and training to help them achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with our purchasing team to source parts and supplies, ensuring that we have the necessary materials to complete jobs.
- Ensure that our workshop is organized and safe, maintaining adequate tools and work areas.
- Handle customer repair work, providing accurate and timely cost estimates and ensuring that jobs are completed to a high standard.
- Participate in service team meetings, contributing to discussions and providing feedback to improve our operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service department procedures, ensuring that our processes are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
- Minimum 3 years of recent supervisory experience in a similar industry.
- Hands-on experience in an engineering or service environment.
- 3rd level Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or time-served mechanic/electrician.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle challenging situations confidently and calmly.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks independently.
- IT literacy including MS Word and Excel.
- A valid driver's licence to travel between depots when required.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime.

Hours of work: 7.30 am - 5 pm, Monday - Thursday & 7.30 am - 4 pm Friday plus one Saturday every third week from 7.45 am - 12.00 pm. Location: Head Office, Cookstown.
