About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Practitioner to lead the HR Operations Team who provide a central employee relations service to our leaders across the Trust. As the Head of HR Operations and Corporate Policy, you will be an integral member of the HR leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operationalise the People & Culture Strategy, ensuring that actions align with the organisations PRIDE values and Know Your Staff Principles, supporting the highest standard of staff experience and clinical outcomes for patients
  • Provide leadership support and development for a team of HR Operational Team who work across the organisation, as well as undertake work on strategic projects to facilitate transformational change across the organisation, including those that further our equality diversity and inclusion strategy
  • Act as a confidante to senior managers, contributing to the early and proactive resolution of potential workforce and service issues and where you will have the ability to influence, challenge and support service delivery and people strategies
  • Have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and ability to problem solve and find practical solutions to employee relations matters will mean that you are regarded as an expert source of employee relations advice within the organisation, providing guidance on actions to take on highly complex employee relations matters, reviewing investigation reports, balancing risk and HR best practice
  • Lead on highly complex and sensitive casework and lead on the organisation response to employment claims, (including liaising with appointed solicitors, business partners and managers)
  • Have a highly visible, competent and coaching leadership style which is consistent with the Trust values and leadership framework
  • You will lead on the continuous development, review and implementation of HR policies, including the development of high standard toolkits, documentation and standard letters
  • You will work collaboratively with the business leaders, learning and organisational development team and the HR Business Partners to build the people management capability and leadership skills across the organisation
  • Undertake training needs analysis and be responsible for designing and delivering training to managers on employee relations matters in order to develop the capability of line managers to deal with employment issues fairly and consistently across the organisation
