Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; 09:00 - 17:00
Working arrangements: Hybrid working, at least 2-3 days working from the office
Overview of the Role:
Pertemps is seeking a motivated and self-driven individual to join the expanding team at the London Borough of Harrow as a Property Leasehold Officer. This temporary position offers a competitive pay rate, excellent training, career development support, and 21 days of holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage service charge income, including personal contact, report production, and liaison with mortgage lenders, court services, and legal teams.
- Proactively contact leaseholders to address non-payment issues.
- Assess income and expenditure, establish repayment agreements, and monitor repayments.
- Identify and refer leaseholders with serious debts to advice services.
- Create and manage payment plans, promoting Direct Debits and Standing Orders.
- Set up and monitor Direct Debits, and process cheques.
- Investigate and process payment transfers, refunds, and misallocated payments.
- Handle service charge enquiries, resolving issues or referring them as needed.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of relevant property and housing acts.
- Ability to interpret leases and transfer agreements.
- Experience in service charge collection and arrears recovery.
- Understanding of service charge and major works billing processes.
- Familiarity with leases, covenants, and the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal.
