Position Overview:

We are seeking two dedicated Kitchen Porters to join our Catering & Retail Service division at the House of Lords. This role is ideal for individuals who uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, adhering to current health and food hygiene regulations at all times.

This position offers the chance to work onsite at a prestigious institution, with a schedule from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including sweeping and mopping floors, ensuring all surfaces are hygienically maintained as per instructions from the Line Manager.
  • Wash and sanitize heavy-duty cooking utensils, pots, and trays in designated pot wash sinks.
  • Polish and maintain the cleanliness of silverware and cutlery.
  • Prepare the dishwasher for daily operations by ensuring it is in optimal working condition, stocked with necessary cleaning agents, and cleaned as directed by the Head Porter. Report any faults or supply needs to the Head Porter.
  • Ensure all dirty crockery and cutlery are cleared from service areas, washed in the appropriate dishwasher, and properly stored or sent to the relevant outlet as required by waiting staff.
  • Comply with all legislative requirements regarding food hygiene and workplace health and safety. Each staff member is responsible for identifying and reporting any safety and health hazards.

Qualifications:

  • A basic Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent, with knowledge of Health & Safety and Manual Handling being desirable.
