Job Title: Senior Manager Macroeconomics

KPMG's macroeconomic division works closely with the Chief Economist in the UK to develop the firm's insights and recommendations regarding the economic environment. This team is responsible for generating forecasts related to the UK economy, producing key publications such as the UK Economic Outlook report and UK Economic Updates, and conducting specialized research on topics pertinent to clients. They also provide customized briefings and presentations tailored to client needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generating the firm's primary UK Economic Outlook reports and economic updates.
  • Crafting innovative analyses focused on client-specific issues in an accessible format.
  • Establishing a fiscal forecasting model and leveraging it to deliver regular insights on the fiscal landscape, including predictions for taxation and government spending.
  • Presenting the economic outlook to diverse audiences, adjusting content to suit various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Economics with a significant emphasis on macroeconomic principles.
  • Considerable experience in drafting economic outlook reports and performing macroeconomic research.
  • Expertise in modeling and analyzing public sector financial data.
  • Experience in client interactions, effectively communicating economic outlook risks and key considerations to a range of business audiences.
Essential Skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of the UK economy, including its regional components.
  • Strong interest in significant developments and risks within the G7 and major emerging markets.
  • Robust econometric capabilities.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with at least one econometric software (preferably R).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at conveying complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
