About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Pennine Care NHS FT. As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality mental health services to children and young people in Oldham.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a psychiatric service for children and young people in Oldham, undertaking direct clinical work and providing supervision to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Take clinical responsibility for a caseload, managing a needs-led interface with Working Age Psychiatry and working creatively with other agencies involved with children and young people.
  • Provide clinical supervision as required to junior medical staff and support the continued development of the Oldham CAMHS service.
  • Adhere to all relevant local and national safeguarding policies and procedures, working closely with other CAMHS Consultants, Operational and multidisciplinary staff, and Care hub managers.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Full GMC Registration
  • Possession of CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, or be within 6 months of achieving this or entered on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Section 12 Approval under Mental Health Act 1983, or be eligible for approval
  • Demonstrable competency across the PMETB approved curriculum for higher training in Child and Adolescent psychiatry
  • Registered for CPD with the RCPsych

  • Other postgraduate degrees
  • Experience in the use of the Mental Health Act (1983)
