Graduate Submarines Site Engineer

Are you a recent engineering graduate looking for a challenging and rewarding career? We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Submarines Site Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems.

As a Graduate Submarines Site Engineer, you will be part of our Submarines Team, working on the design, build, testing, and commissioning of the largest and most advanced submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy. You will be responsible for providing management, governance, and assurance to the BAE Barrow site nuclear assets and buildings.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Submarines Site Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing independent engineering oversight across all nuclear site and facilities.
  • Developing through-life management plans for assets and buildings which contribute to the nuclear site licence.
  • Production of technical requirements, specifications, documents, and designs to support various engineering and site and facilities projects.
  • Providing technical engineering advice and support to maintenance, operations, and project teams.
  • Providing technical assurance to both internal and external governing bodies to prove compliance with regulations and legislation.
  • Assisting in identifying business risks and developing engineering solutions to mitigate and manage risks.
  • Working with stakeholders at all levels of the business to meet programme demands and partaking in design reviews for a range of engineering projects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of a 2.2 degree in a relevant STEM subject, including but not limited to Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Nuclear, or Civil Engineering.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
