Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our team in Swindon or Milton Keynes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a small team of engineers, providing technical expertise, and managing projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and mentor a small team of engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality projects.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Carry out site contamination assessments, site investigations, and geotechnical appraisals, using a range of techniques and tools.
- Schedule and manage laboratory testing, including contamination, waste classification, and geotechnical testing.
- Design and implement remediation works, including validation and verification.
- Write interpretative geo-environmental reports, summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Manage projects from start to finish, including project cost control, client liaison, and stakeholder engagement.
- Carry out infiltration testing and other site-specific tasks as required.
- Ensure a strong understanding of HSEQ principles and practices, and maintain a clean driving license.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in a relevant field, with a related Master's degree being advantageous.
- Chartership with a relevant body, such as the Geological Society or the Institution of Civil Engineers.
- At least 10 years of experience in ground investigation, with a focus on geo-environmental aspects.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
- A strong understanding of contaminated land legislation and consultancy practices.
