Simpson Judge Ltd is seeking a skilled Court of Protection Solicitor to join our expanding team. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a reputable law firm known for its commitment to professional development and a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of deputyship administration cases, including those involving complex needs and significant litigation awards.
  • Collaborate closely with clients who may lack capacity, along with their families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Gather instructions from clients and coordinate with deputies to ensure decisions are made in the clients' best interests, in compliance with the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on relevant laws, procedures, and issues pertaining to each case.
  • Draft personalized documents, letters, court filings, and contracts tailored to individual client needs.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients and other professionals to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases, including funding, insurance arrangements, ongoing costs, and any funds held in client accounts.
  • Instruct Counsel and experts to offer advice and representation as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all court and tribunal deadlines.
  • Represent clients in tribunals and courts when required.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to Court of Protection administrators and paralegals as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Costs Draftsmen.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Capability to work under pressure and independently, as well as part of a small team.
  • Experience in a paperless working environment.
