We are looking for a skilled professional to fill the role of a Fee Earner, responsible for handling a caseload of Claimant files, transferred fast track files, and representing the team in the conduct of client matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of client cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances of incidents and the value of client claims.
  • Provide expert legal advice and assistance to clients, ensuring their matters are handled professionally and efficiently.
  • Collate and review evidence to assess the prospects of claims succeeding and their merits.
  • Negotiate settlements on the best possible terms for clients, ensuring instructions are followed and key points are addressed.
  • Ensure the legal expenses provider is kept updated at all stages.
  • Draft necessary documents to issue court proceedings, follow court directions, and prepare files for final court hearings.
  • Identify and investigate conflicts, complaints, and potential acts of negligence, reporting them immediately to a team leader or member of the compliance team.

Requirements

  • A minimum of six months' experience in a similar role, either in-house or within private practice.
  • Basic legal knowledge and understanding of fundamental legal concepts.
  • Confidence to manage colleagues' expectations and ensure delivery by following up on promised items.
  • Fee earning knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent writing skills to apply in written papers for internal and external release.
