We are seeking a dedicated professional with a background in community pediatric nursing, expertise in children's continence, and experience within special education settings.
The School Nursing Team is tasked with providing healthcare services to children and adolescents with intricate health requirements attending specialized educational institutions. Responsibilities include conducting health evaluations, formulating and revising care plans, managing urgent health situations, and offering training to educational personnel. The team also prepares reports and participates in child protection meetings.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will guarantee the delivery of exceptional nursing care across the special education campuses.

Detailed Job Responsibilities
General Duties
- Promote and implement collaborative working practices to enhance service delivery for children and families.
- Ensure compliance with SHC and ESTH policies and procedures among team members.
- Foster close collaboration with educational, health, and social care professionals.
- Delegate responsibilities to ensure coordinated care.
- Act as a specialist resource for colleagues within the department and the broader organization.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, including medication administration and gastrostomy feeds, with experience in caring for children with tracheostomies.
- Support the lead clinician for the children's continence service.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop care plans based on individual health needs.
- Review care plans regularly and make referrals as necessary.
- Participate in safeguarding supervision and represent the school nursing team in various meetings.
- Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infection.
Management and Leadership Responsibilities
- Ensure team adherence to service delivery standards.
- Assist in monitoring the staffing budget.
- Ensure timely and accurate data collection and record-keeping.

Essential Qualifications
- NMC Registered Nurse (adult, child, or learning disabilities).
- Mentorship qualification or willingness to obtain.

- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience working with children and young people.
