Job Title: Electrical Power Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems (Powersource). As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers in defining the system elements required to feed into the submarine design and build process, including design documentation, spatial modelling, and build outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
  • Manage the processes and reviews of technical documentation
  • Manage associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Provide advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
  • Engage with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
  • Take a leading role in guiding the team through the systems definition process
  • Provide leadership and mentoring of more junior team members to ensure the necessary capability and skills development

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering background
  • Engineering Chartership required (or equivalent experience demonstrated)
  • Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team leadership experience
