About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist Grade Psychiatrist to join our team at HMP Exeter. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality mental health services to prisoners, working closely with other healthcare professionals and prison staff to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage prisoners with mental health needs, providing individualized care and treatment plans.
  • Liaise with external services to arrange community care packages, aftercare plans, or hospital transfers as required.
  • Conduct out-patient clinics and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health services.
Requirements
  • GMC registration and Section 12 registration.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in psychiatry, with a strong background in mental health services.
