About the Role

Mace is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Manager to join our team. As a key member of our consult business, you will play a critical role in supporting our projects in achieving their carbon reduction targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a carbon management plan for the project, ensuring compliance with HS2-HS2-SU-STD technical standard – carbon management.
  • Collaborate with the design team to update the life cycle assessment (LCA) at each key project gateway stage and ensure a final 'as-built' LCA is conducted at the end of construction.
  • Attend site and project team meetings to ensure construction and installations align with carbon savings and specifications in the design.
  • Support the project-level understanding of environmental requirements and develop mitigations to prevent impacts on the construction programme.
  • Drive the carbon agenda throughout the design and construction phase by leading the carbon working group to action carbon opportunities and identify new opportunities for further reductions.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports on sustainability issues, meeting minutes, and presentation material as required.
  • Update the sustainability processes in the project Integrated Management System with MDJV Euston team.
  • Develop and maintain the sustainability key risks and issues log to report to senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Respect: understanding others, recognising their value, and behaving accordingly.
  • Integrity: acting fairly, transparently, and consistently.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent, typically in an environmental discipline.
  • Professional membership of an appropriate environmental body (e.g., MIEMA).
  • Appropriate CSCS card type and level.
