As a Compliance Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the Drax Group's trading and generation operations are in line with regulatory requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing compliance advisory and assurance services to support the Senior Compliance Manager and the wider WMC team.
- Delivering physical and financial regulatory compliance across the group.
- Collaborating with commercial teams to build trust, confidence, and respect while challenging the status quo.
- Managing and improving policies, processes, systems, and capabilities in line with the latest regulations.
- Performing BAU activities and providing compliance guidance to trading, commercial, and strategy colleagues.
- Staying up-to-date with current and forthcoming regulatory development activities.
Requirements:
- Education to degree level with a basic understanding of wholesale physical and financial markets.
- Prior experience working with commercial teams, including 24hr trading functions.
- Strong understanding of energy/financial wholesale markets and regulated risks associated with Energy Market regulatory framework.
- Excellent negotiating, influencing, and communicating skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
