Job Title: Pre-Assessment Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic nurse to join our Pre-Assessment Team at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing patients from multiple surgical specialties, preparing them for surgery, and optimizing their health to reduce cancellations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-assessment interviews with patients to gather information about their medical history, medications, and current health status.
  • Review patients' medical records and test results to identify potential risks and complications.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to optimize patients' health and reduce the risk of complications.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and well-being.
Requirements
  • Current and active NMC registration.
  • Experience of surgical nursing and various surgical specialties.
  • Ability to interpret results, including bloods, observations, and ECGs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
