Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled craftsperson to join our Estates and Campus Services team at the University of Essex. As a craftsperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining and developing our campuses' buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake a mix of reactive maintenance across the University's campuses to ensure the continued provision of world-class teaching, research, and learning.
• Work closely with the Building Team and external contractors to ensure day-to-day repairs are undertaken in a timely fashion with minimum disruption to departments.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have relevant post-training experience as a craftsperson in joinery or carpentry and an NVQ in Wood Occupations at Level 2 (Carpentry & Joinery) or equivalent. You will also need to be an excellent communicator, team player, and have an awareness of relevant health and safety regulations.
