Food Processing Operative

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for the processing of animal food, safely, to the required finished standard, as effectively as possible, under the direction of the Shift Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate a mill, including loading bulk ingredients and performing technical checks and recording.
  • Run the extruder, dryer, coater, cooler, and bulk storage, including technical checks and recording.
  • Capture, segregate, and transfer waste for rework.
  • Perform cleaning tasks as required.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Manufacturing background, preferably in food, pet food, or FMCG.
  • Food Safety Level 2 certification.
  • Awareness of BRC standards.
  • IOSH Working Safely certification.
  • Some knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a collaborative culture.
  • Open to change and willing to learn.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Minimize waste and optimize production efficiency.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment.

Salary: £14.00 per hour
