Ascend Airways is set to launch operations with a modern fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, focusing on the ACMI sector. The company is built on the strong foundation of a reputable aviation entity, now part of a leading global ACMI provider.
The Aircraft Maintenance Liaison Engineer will be an integral member of the on-site team, serving as the primary contact between Ascend Airways and the contracted Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO). This role emphasizes the management of fleet maintenance needs, scheduled tasks, defect resolution, and coordination of any Aircraft on Ground (AOG) incidents that may occur.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for daily Fleet Technical Operations, available 24/7.
- Oversee and coordinate with contracted MROs to ensure compliance with service standards and operational requirements.
- Act as the onsite liaison for base maintenance activities and lease transitions.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Team to source necessary parts for Scheduled Maintenance, Defect Rectification, and AOG situations.
- Work closely with the MRO to effectively manage and resolve all Airworthiness Directives (ADDs).
- Prepare, distribute, and discuss Aircraft Daily Status Reports with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to organizational procedures, standards, and interfaces.
- Coordinate with Technical Services to ensure Technical Delay Reports are generated for any recurring defects or reliability issues.
- Manage AOG situations at both base and international locations.
- Participate in aircraft arrivals, departures, and transits as required.
- Organize and attend meetings pertinent to the role.
- Report all emerging issues to the Engineering Station Manager promptly.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance at all times.
- Review and issue Work Orders, Work Requests, and Daily Status updates to MROs.
- Evaluate completed Work Orders, Technical Log Pages, and associated documentation.
- Communicate regularly with various internal departments to provide updates on operational matters.
Qualifications:
- B1/B2 Licence (UKCAA/EASA) required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with Boeing 737 NG (MAX experience preferred).
- Experience in a similar capacity (Liaison Engineer or Maintenance Control Engineer).
- Strong knowledge of engineering processes and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Applications, particularly Excel and My Boeing Fleet.
- Demonstrated team leadership experience.
