About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Cost Management team in Winchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing cost estimates and cost plans, preparing tendering documents, and managing the tender process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate and detailed cost estimates and cost plans for various projects.
  • Prepare and submit tendering documents, including tender returns and recommendations to clients.
  • Manage the tender process, including reviewing and analyzing tender returns, and providing advice on procurement and contracts.
  • Attend meetings and prepare financial reports to monitor project status and ensure projects remain on budget.
  • Full post-contract duties, including establishing the effect of variations and evaluating and negotiating final account settlements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring the highest standards of professional competence.
  • Support and manage junior team members to deliver our cost management service efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to winning new work and/or repeat business by evaluating costs and advising on alternative proposals.
  • Provide expert advice on contract arrangements and conditions, and advise architects and engineers on cost implications of different construction methods and materials.
Requirements
  • Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent).
  • MRICS Chartered.
  • Experience of high-value and complex projects gained in a consultancy environment.
  • Residential, education, retail, commercial, and leisure sector experience.
  • Natural communicator with excellent negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, CAD, and measurement software (CostX, Causeway Cato, Bluebeam or similar).
