The Role

Modelling and analysing catastrophe exposure is an exciting and rapidly expanding area of our business. The position is for a Natural Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join the Global Markets P&C and Facultative analytics team to support modelling and service offering development globally. The team works closely with insurance brokers in London to offer a wide range of analytical services, including data management, catastrophe modelling, exposure management and bespoke analytics. Our services are specifically focused on understanding and quantifying risk from natural and man-made perils such as windstorm, earthquake, flood and terrorism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing, auditing, processing and analysing clients' insurance portfolio data
  • Preparation and formatting of data for modelling
  • Quantifying the catastrophe risk to client portfolios using vendor catastrophe models
  • Operating geo-visualisation tools, including Arc GIS
  • Contributing to the Global Fac Analytics service offering development
  • Understanding and evaluating the impact of updates and revisions to models and the outputs produced
  • Communicating results effectively to all stakeholders, including cat modellers, brokers, clients and reinsurers
  • Working closely with all stakeholders throughout all aspects of the risk quantification process
  • Providing real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and supporting clients post-event
  • Supporting junior members in the team through training and advice
