As a Nuclear Decommissioning Technician, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day decommissioning activities associated with projects. This will include operating cutting, lifting, and handheld tooling, as well as undertaking size reduction, dismantling, and decontamination of plant and equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating cutting, lifting, and handheld tooling
  • Undertaking size reduction, dismantling, and decontamination of plant and equipment
  • Carrying out waste processing duties
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards
  • Performing tasks involving the use/wear of RPE, PBAS, and Respirators
  • Undertaking glovebox work in support of decommissioning activities
  • Assisting in the construction of modular containment systems
  • Complying with all rules, regulations, permit systems, and safety requirements

Experience:

Ideal candidates will have previous nuclear decommissioning experience, but full training will be provided to successful candidates. Due to the nature of the role and the client, it is essential that all applications have resided in the UK for at least 5 years. Security Clearance (SC) or the ability to obtain SC and DV is also required.
