Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Group Janitor to join our team at Aberdeenshire Council. As a Group Janitor, you will be responsible for providing effective janitor services to educational establishments, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide janitor services to educational establishments, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Janitorial Team to achieve high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a janitorial or maintenance role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy equipment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.

Working Conditions:

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
