We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at HOME, a mental health and wellbeing hub for young people in Barnsley. As a Counsellor, you will provide 1-2-1 therapeutic interventions and counselling for young people aged 11-25 through our Wellbeing Programme.
Key Responsibilities- Provide up to 20 therapy sessions to each client, allowing them to explore issues and develop coping strategies.
- Support initial assessments and allocation of young people to team members.
- Ensure record keeping and session note taking is up to date and confidential.
- Support bank counsellors with practical tasks and access to the building.
- Participate in peer supervision and engage in regular supervision with a qualified supervisor.
- Ensure the safety of young people, managing risk factors following Chilypep Safeguarding protocols.
Contact with children and young people forms the basis of our work, so this post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
Travel will be required across Barnsley and to regional and national meetings and training events.
Holidays - 38 days per year inclusive of bank holidays pro rata to hours worked.
