About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children's home in Bodmin. The successful candidate will provide support to young people aged 8-16 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, depending on their age.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture within the home.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours in a safe and sympathetic manner.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for young people and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensure the safety of students and maintain up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in a healthcare or social care setting is also desirable but not essential.
  • A full UK driving licence is required for transporting young people.
  • Applicants must be over 21 years old and able to commute to Bodmin.
