About the Opportunity

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team. The successful candidate will support our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with their nuclear fleet in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to develop knowledge and skills within an operational defueling environment, with the potential for future opportunities in nuclear new build or decommissioning and deconstruction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including quality plans and technical specifications.
  2. Manage technical queries in accordance with relevant processes and procedures.
  3. Support contractor selection and contract placement.
  4. Conduct technical reviews of contractor documents and drawings.
  5. Perform feasibility studies, site surveys, and liaison with designers and station engineering staff as required.
  6. Prepare Engineering Changes and manage the preparation of supporting and affected documents.
  7. Commissioning documents and act as test team leader where appropriate.
  8. Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager in managing the project and ensuring work is carried out in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
Requirements
  1. Typically Chartered Engineer or HND Plus with extensive experience in electrical engineering.
  2. Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
  3. Candidates with a formal project management qualification and experience in modern project management techniques are preferred but not essential.
  4. Experience of identifying, implementing, and complying with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards, company procedures, and policies.
  5. Knowledge and experience of delivering construction projects under CDM.
  6. Ideal experience in managing and delivering electrical power systems design and installation projects.
  7. Strong communication and organisational skills.
  8. A background of working at Power Stations and Nuclear Licensed Sites is preferred but not essential.
