Cloud BC Labs is seeking a skilled Middleware Systems Engineer with a focus on DevOps to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in designing, implementing, and maintaining our robust cloud infrastructure, leveraging your expertise in containerization technologies like Kubernetes.

As a key member of our IT team, you will collaborate closely with developers and engineers to ensure seamless integration and automation across our development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from managing and optimizing existing Kubernetes clusters to implementing cutting-edge DevOps practices that enhance efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, develop, and test applications running on hypervisor platforms or containerization environments.
  • Provide expert technical support for current and future platforms, including containerization technologies and advanced tools.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in DevOps practices, particularly within the realm of containers, maintaining a deep understanding of industry trends and advancements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of our information systems.
  • Leverage automation technologies to streamline manual tasks and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Lead project implementations, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain robust information security controls, procedures, and standards.
  • Mentor and guide other team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with IT and business stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and information exchange.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
  • Seven or more years of proven experience in the Information Technology industry.
  • Extensive experience designing, supporting, and upgrading OpenShift Kubernetes environments across on-premises, cloud (Azure), and bare metal deployments.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies and CI/CD principles, with practical experience using tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • In-depth knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle models.
  • Strong analytical, development, and testing skills, particularly in relation to scheduler object creation.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, negotiate effectively, and communicate clearly with both team members and senior management.
