Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Knight Electrical Switchgear.

Job Purpose: Design and develop low voltage switchboards and related products to meet customer specifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Utilize customer specifications and estimates to design low voltage electrical switchgear and similar products.
  • Compile parts lists from our database and coordinate with the purchasing team to procure materials in advance of production.
  • Communicate design requirements to our CAD staff, who will prepare detailed drawings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate project requirements and timelines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and commercial awareness to drive business growth.
  • Operate basic to intermediate level Microsoft Office software and collaborate with our CAD department.

Requirements:

  • Experience in designing low voltage switchgear or similar products.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and bills of materials.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Basic to intermediate level CAD skills (as our CAD department will handle detailed drawings).
