Clinical Pharmacist to Specialist Rotational Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in a rotational position, providing pharmaceutical care across various specialties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or early-career Pharmacist to progress their career and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced Pharmacy Team to develop and implement an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service for patients across several specialties, including cardiology, respiratory medicine, cardio-thoracic surgery, and palliative care.

As a Clinical Pharmacist in this role, you will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care, rotating through various specialties, and working closely with senior clinical pharmacists to develop your skills and knowledge.

You will have the opportunity to study for a clinical pharmacy diploma/MSc, which will also include the Non-Medical Prescribing pathway, and will be supported through our comprehensive in-house training programme.

This is a permanent, full-time position, and the successful candidate will be based at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmaceutical care across various specialties
  • Rotate through various specialties, including cardiology, respiratory medicine, cardio-thoracic surgery, and palliative care
  • Work closely with senior clinical pharmacists to develop skills and knowledge
  • Study for a clinical pharmacy diploma/MSc, including the Non-Medical Prescribing pathway
  • Participate in our comprehensive in-house training programme

Person Specification
  • Registered member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy
  • Training year in hospital or other experience working in hospital

  • Able to work independently and compute information from various sources quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to accept responsibility for area of pharmacy practice
  • Analysis of information relating to individual patients medication
