Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in our inclusive educational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with ASD and/or ADHD, ensuring their unique needs are met in the classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement personalized learning plans and behavior management strategies for students with SEN.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for students, promoting social and emotional well-being.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and resources tailored to the specific needs of students with ASD and/or ADHD.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals involved in the students' care to ensure a holistic approach to their education and well-being.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with individuals with ASD and/or ADHD is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEN support strategies and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Relevant certifications or training in the field of Special Educational Needs is desirable.
Day-to-Day
  • Provide individualized support to students during lessons, ensuring they are able to engage and participate fully.
  • Collaborate with teachers to facilitate the inclusion of students in all aspects of school life.
  • Monitor and record student progress, and contribute to the review and development of their individual support plans.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting respect and understanding among all students.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to further enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEN.
