Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a dedicated specialist support assistant to join our team in a specialist school for students with high-functioning autism. As a specialist support assistant, you will work closely with students aged 10-16 who have an autistic spectrum condition (ASC) and additional needs such as ADHD and social emotional and mental health needs.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Psychology or a related field and a strong interest in autism support. They will be empathetic, patient, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for students with autism, tailored to their individual needs, promoting both emotional and academic progress.
  • Act as a Key Worker for 10-16 year olds, creating a supportive, safe environment and implementing tailored strategies.
  • Aid students in developing social skills, self-regulation, and communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's specialist team to maintain a structured and autism-friendly environment.
  • Use initiative to adapt support methods to meet students' unique needs, enhancing their learning experience.
