About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in a dynamic and supportive team, providing high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with complex mental health conditions, as well as providing leadership and guidance to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and diagnose patients with complex mental health conditions
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, including medical students and junior doctors
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures
- Engage in research and quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes and service delivery
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practise
- Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Approved clinician status
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and efficiently, prioritising conflicting demands
