Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in a dynamic and supportive team, providing high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with complex mental health conditions, as well as providing leadership and guidance to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose patients with complex mental health conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, including medical students and junior doctors
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures
  • Engage in research and quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes and service delivery
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practise
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Approved clinician status
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and efficiently, prioritising conflicting demands
