Transportation Operations Manager

Job Summary
The Transportation Manager will oversee the safe and efficient transportation operations on campus, ensuring a conducive environment for working and learning. This role will develop and implement transportation policies, procedures, and programs to meet the university's needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee transportation policies, procedures, and programs to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.
- Review and maintain monthly maintenance records on the fleet equipment.
- Review requests for long-distance bus service and make work assignments.
- Attend meetings with campus partners to discuss transportation needs.
- Work with vendors to obtain quotes for divisional purchasing needs.
- Complete monthly, weekly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Approve full-time and part-time time sheets using the time and attendance system.
- Ensure all staff are compliant with transportation certification requirements and conduct training as needed.
Requirements
- Supervisor experience in transportation operations.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate current highway and road navigation devices.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Deep understanding of transportation technologies and industry trends.
- Ability to work effectively with the university community.
- Demonstrated ability to develop long-term strategic plans.
- Solid math skills for computing load tolerance and mileage estimates.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
- Current valid vehicle operator's license or commercial driver's license required.
- Five or more years of experience in bus services operations.
