About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at ATC Computer Transport & Logistics. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for planning, booking, and monitoring transport routes across Europe, the UK, and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan shipments and routes to ensure effective use of resources while meeting our Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with EU working time directives and relevant road safety regulations.
  • Monitor all shipments in-transit and provide updates to colleagues and customers.
  • Update Microsoft milestones as per our SLA.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors, overseas offices, and staff to ensure schedules and SLAs are met.
  • Liaise with clients, ATC operations, and field teams to ensure service levels are maintained.
  • Work closely with clients' supply chain functions to ensure schedules are met and accurately reported.
  • Respond to changing customer demands seamlessly.
  • Communicate with customers and understand customer requirements.
  • Manage proofs of delivery/activity.
  • Plan vehicle and trailer maintenance schedules.
  • Plan workloads and reload drivers and vehicles to minimize empty running.
  • Work as part of a planning team with cross-training for colleagues.
  • Liaise with the accounts team to ensure accurate billing.
  • Update trackers (FB & L15) in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Acknowledge customer emails and requests in a timely manner.
  • Implement booking emails in accordance with Customer Communications SOP.
  • Follow and complete all steps in checklists.
  • Closing out jobs on the internal system (Stratum).
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with substantial experience in transport planning (3+ years) and a proven ability to complete tasks under pressure. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent IT skills, including Office 365 and Microsoft Office, and a full understanding of EU Working Time Directive, Digital Tachograph regulations, and other relevant regulations.

A working knowledge of a European language and experience of MS SharePoint in a corporate environment would be an advantage.
