About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Divisional Head of FP&A to join our team at Biosynth. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the global Complex Chemical division.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Complex Chemicals commercial and operational teams.
  • Develop and implement a regular finance reporting and analysis cadence.
  • Provide month-end reporting packages, including in-depth analysis of performance drivers and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends, analyzing variances, and supporting gap-closing measures.
  • Support the development, training, and understanding of the Sales CRM tool.
  • Lead the regular forecasting and budget cycle for the Complex Chemical division.
  • Provide robust challenge to the business during planning processes.
  • Lead the capital expenditure process in close collaboration with operational teams.
  • Support the development of the SAP ecosystem alongside the Finance Process Excellence manager and IS team to improve speed and accuracy of reporting.
  • Work closely with the business to assist in the control and optimization of inventory levels and working capital.
  • Champion finance throughout the wider organization, delivering a high-quality finance provision leading to high levels of trust of finance within the business.

Key Deliverables and Performance Indicators:

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of key business planning deliverables.
  • Drive focus on profit and loss efficiency and cash conversion rate.
  • Financial reporting (monthly).
  • Half-year forecast and budget.
  • Cash flow forecast (monthly).

Candidate Requirements:

  • University degree in business and/or accounting desirable.
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified essential.
  • Extensive experience working in a FP&A/group environment is essential.
  • Understanding of working in a complex divisional structure international business required.
  • Experience in a private equity portfolio company would be desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge in pharmaceutical/bio-tech/medical device would be desirable but not essential.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills in a senior management environment.
  • Day-to-day experience of SAP.
  • Comfortable extracting and working with large data sets.
  • Positive attitude, capable, energetic, analytical with a solid understanding of accounting.
  • Understanding of group business processes required.
