About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Social Media Officer to join our team at the University of Hull. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for creating, posting, and scheduling engaging content across our social media channels to reflect our university's objectives and communications plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content Creation: Develop and implement a content strategy that showcases our university's identity and brand, and aligns with our broader communications and marketing objectives.
  • Community Management: Monitor and respond to direct messages on our social media channels, providing excellent customer service and support to our online community.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with staff, students, alumni, and partners to advise on and coordinate social media activity, such as takeovers, events, and live streams.
  • Analytics and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the impact of our social media activity, reporting findings to the social media team and making improvements based on these insights.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a professional environment, preferably in a communications or marketing role.
  • Excellent content creation and writing skills, with the ability to adapt to different tone and style requirements.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective features and capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and improve social media performance.
