Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in a mixed primary and secondary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and guide pupils in their learning journey through fun play, sensory play, and continuous provisions.
- Identify and adapt your approach to meet the specific needs of each child, working closely with the class teacher to ensure alignment with each child's EHCP.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher, establishing supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers.
- Plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups under the general supervision and direction of the teacher.
Requirements:
- Passionate about working with and supporting children with SEN.
- Knowledge of/confidence with delivering continuous provisions in line with the curriculum.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Patience and communication skills with children are essential.
- Resilient and able to reflect on your practice.
- Ability to follow all safeguarding policies and procedures.
What We Offer:
- A competitive hourly rate of pay of £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties.
- A full-time role, Monday to Friday (8.30-3.30pm) with a term-time only contract.
