About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Scientist to join our Nuclear Medicine Physics team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in the development and delivery of Nuclear Medicine and PET services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and develop our Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET services, including the development of imaging protocols and the evaluation of novel radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Contribute to the group's growing involvement in clinical research, including the design and implementation of research studies.
  • Provide complex scientific advice and support to clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe and effective delivery of Nuclear Medicine and PET services.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures for SPECT, PET, radionuclide calibrators, intraoperative probes, and gamma counters.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist with a strong background in Nuclear Medicine and PET.
  • RPA2000 Certified Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Experience of working with ionising radiation and knowledge of IRMER2017 and IRR2017.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to travel between customers by car, ferry, and/or plane.
