ROLE

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and purchasing goods and services in line with the Business Procedures of DeepOcean. This role will deliver best value through procurement processes and serve as the main point of reference within the Company on all matters concerning the supply of goods and services.

HSEQ

The Procurement Specialist will ensure that all DeepOcean employees, regardless of location, are responsible for Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Security compliance relating to the work performed by the Company. This includes considering the safety and occupational health of personnel, the environment, and Company assets, and ensuring that all work is performed in conformance with HSEQS requirements set out by the Company and Client and applicable statutory regulations.

KEY TASKS

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and improve the procurement service.
  • Evaluate and select vendors through the business Vendor Accreditation Programme.
  • Issue invitations to tender, discuss queries, analyze quotations, and make recommendations to budget holders.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery dates, and other terms to provide best value and issue Purchase Orders to reflect negotiated agreements.
  • Place, amend, and progress purchase orders for goods and services in accordance with requirements.
  • Expedite solutions to problems arising in relation to delivery, quality, quantity, documentation, and cost.
  • Ensure accuracy of procurement systems.
  • Explore new product ranges and services to maintain competitiveness.
  • Act as the interface between customer and vendor to develop and maintain business relationships.
  • Analyze financial data, identify errors, and solve problems regarding complex invoice queries.
  • Manage workload to ensure purchasing deadlines are met.

  • Deliver cash/added value savings as identified annually.
  • All suppliers and sub-contractors engaged are suitably qualified and approved.
  • Operational delays attributed to procurement issues are zero.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience may be acceptable in lieu of qualification.

DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Up to 5 years of experience in Engineering, Finance, Business, or Commercial disciplines.
  • Procurement experience is an advantage.
  • Commercial and technical acumen.
