About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter/Engineer to join our team at Alfa Laval UK&I's Service Centre in Camberley. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the disassembly and re-assembly of rotating mechanical equipment, including the balancing of critical components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strip and prepare Decanters for inspection
  • Clean equipment using jet washing and chemical cleaning methods
  • Dismantle and reassemble gearboxes
  • Rebuild equipment according to guidelines
  • Use technical drawings to assist in disassembly and re-assembly
  • Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment
  • Understand and apply Health and Safety protocols and PPE requirements
  • Build sub-assemblies for balancing
  • Balance Bowls, conveyors, and gearbox shells using dynamic balancing equipment
  • Use welding equipment (TIG welding training provided)
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with an appropriate apprenticeship or qualification in engineering, experience working with hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals. You should have a good understanding of workshop-related disciplines and PPE/H&S requirements. Experience with cranes, slings, and stacker trucks is beneficial, although full training will be provided.
