About the Role

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant and engaging adult education program. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities by supporting their learning journey and helping them achieve their goals.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to learners within a diverse classroom setting, assisting them in understanding and completing course materials.
  • Work collaboratively with the course Tutor to implement lesson plans and create a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage learner participation and engagement, fostering their confidence and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievements.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate and patient individual with a genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Level 2 or above qualification in both English and Maths.
  • Basic digital skills, including proficiency in email and web browsing.
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities in a voluntary or paid capacity.
  • Experience working in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
