Entry-Level Teaching Assistant - Primary Education

Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear

Salary: £75 to £100 per day

Contract Type: Full-time/ Part-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to foster a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide tailored support to students who require additional educational assistance.
  • Encourage active participation during lessons.
  • Assist in maintaining records related to student achievements.
  • Work with colleagues to create and execute effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting support methods as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in any discipline; degrees related to education are preferred.
  • Experience working with primary-aged children is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for fostering educational success.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Familiarity with the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Possess an updated CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

Note: This position requires a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful candidates must meet all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or a willingness to apply for a new one.
