Job Title: Housing Law Specialist

About the Role:

Gemini Recruitment is partnering with a leading law firm to recruit a dedicated Housing Law Specialist. Our client serves corporate entities and private individuals in over 25 practice areas from offices throughout the UK.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Law Specialist to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to both landlords and tenants on all housing issues, including dealing with a range of public and private housing cases.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Provide professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients' needs
  • Assist with casework, including dealing with Homelessness; Disrepair; Eviction; Possession; Property Ownership Disputes; Succession for Tenants; Neighbourhood Problems matters
  • Attend clients, take instructions and prepare cases
  • Deal with correspondence
  • Maintain accurate time costing procedures
  • Implement recommendations made by supervisor following monthly file reviews
  • Ensure compliance with file management

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of publicly funded Housing Law
  • A strong academic background with a Law degree
  • Legal experience as a Housing Paralegal/Advisor
  • Clear understanding and application of Housing Laws
  • Business acumen and the ability to market the Company
  • Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance
  • Committed team player, self-motivated and professional
  • Excellent IT Skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
