We are seeking a skilled Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our laboratory team. This position is permanent and involves a balanced mix of fieldwork and office responsibilities, focusing on the design, execution, and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental site assessments for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing site assessments while overseeing field teams, typically tailored to client needs.
- Evaluating expected site conditions to support investigations and develop ground models.
- Conducting soil and rock logging and sampling in both field and laboratory settings.
- Inputting data into geotechnical software to generate logs and related outputs.
- Preparing schedules for laboratory testing.
- Analyzing site and laboratory data to create factual and interpretative reports.
- Assisting the Senior Geotechnical Engineer in proposal development and cost estimation for site assessments.
- Collaborating with clients and laboratory team members to ensure timely and budget-compliant task completion.
- Creating CAD drawings as necessary to support investigations and reporting.
- Managing assigned project staff and mentoring colleagues as needed.
- Ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety regulations and legislation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Geotechnical or Geo-Environmental Engineering field.
- Proven experience in factual report writing and providing expert recommendations.
- A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional membership of a relevant professional body, with a commitment to achieving chartered status.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
