The Role

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and coach our engineering teams across Consumer, Rider, Restaurant, and Platform groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Line managing one or more teams of Backend, iOS, Android, and Web Engineers
  • Contributing to product strategy, setting project goals, and supporting team development
  • Growing a diverse and highly skilled group of engineers, providing exposure to scaling a tech team at a unique pace
  • Creating a learning environment for the team and acting as a mentor for engineers and up-and-coming leaders
  • Becoming instrumental in improving and implementing processes and values that scale effectively
  • Providing technical mentorship to engineers building and deploying large-scale projects internationally
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, design, operations, and more

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership experience as a senior manager
  • Experience managing both managers and individual contributors
  • Strong technical skills, architectural knowledge, problem-solving, and experience setting strategic direction
  • Experience as a software engineer and a manager building user-focused products at scale and pace
  • A collaborative and supportive management style, encouraging team members to optimize processes and practices while supporting growth and career progression
  • Experience building teams, recruiting, and partnering with the Recruiting Team
  • Cross-functional work experience and collaborative problem-solving
